I have composed over 30 pieces in various genres, dating back to the late 1980's. Once the Clarinet
Concerto is completed, I plan to revise some of the better works and post them on this website, along with new compositions.
In the meantime, here is an arrangement of the Bach-Gounod Ave Maria for 2 solo instruments that
I just completed as a little side project. I added an original counter melody that beautifully weaves around the traditional
line composed by Gounod. The piano part is the Bach C major prelude from the well-tempered clavier
played twice through.
As you can see, there are a number of possibilities for the instrumentation.
Since I am currently working on the last movement of my Clarinet Concerto, I naturally wanted
to create a version of this piece for solo violin and solo clarinet. So far, that is my favorite
of the various combinations. All the versions are in the same key so it is possible to play them
en masse as is commonly done in Suzuki group concerts or other educational venues.
These demos, with the exception of the Violin and Viola are produced using Finale 2007 and
the Garritan Personal Orchestra.
I hope you enjoy the music!
